We want to design things that last by specifying the right material for the job. This avoids the need for replacement (and a double-whammy on cost and materials). ‘Lifetime costing’ makes you look at the big picture.
Fresh graphics and a color-coded wayfinding system regenerated a confusing, drab 28-exit London subway. Graphics incorporate texts and images from local artists. Extremely hard-wearing, light-fast vitreous enamel makes for beautiful results that will withstand years of wear and tear.
