For this exhibition about human impact on the world’s oceans, we developed one of the most sustainably designed permanent exhibitions in the UK. Almost every material in the gallery is either recycled or reclaimed, and it was built with sustainable construction methods. Aimed at school groups, the gallery challenges and educates young people about the impact that their everyday actions make on the health of our oceans. The exhibit design itself became a case study in how to do things differently, and we provided graphic ‘footnotes’ to describe the materials and processes used.
